Christine was born at Fort Bragg, in North Carolina during her father's service in the United States Army.
She was raised in Northwest Indiana (Gary, East Chicago, Hammond and Highland). She is married and has two adult children and a black lab residing in East Chicago. She is a member and lector at St. Stanislaus Church.
Christine has 21 years experience in county government in various county offices. Christine has served on the Lake County Council since August of 2004. And, serves the County's 5th District constituents of East Chicago, Hammond (portions of 1st, 2nd, 5th Districts and 6th District/Hessville) and Whiting.
Under her leadership, serving as President of the council in 2008, the Council cut 15 million dollars from the budget for the first time in over 30 years. And, the workforce was reduced by 112 persons. She also took the initiative to place county budgets, council agendas and meeting minutes on the county website for public transparency to their government.
Her colleagues have entrusted her with appointments to the Lake County Solid Waste District, Northern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC), Northwest Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD), Lake County Public Safety Communications Commission (E911) finance, legislative, County Redevelopment Commission and union contract negotiations committees.
Christine chairs the budget committees of the Clerk, Recorder, Prosecutor, Sheriff, Jail, Juvenile Detention Center and Animal Control.
She is also an active member of the Indiana National Federation of Business Professional Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles #3117, Association of Indiana Counties, National Association of County Officers, (NACO) and several community organizations.
Her goal is to continue to build public trust, ensure accountability, efficiency, reduce costs, provide essential services and have an open and accessible government to all persons living and working in Lake County.
